Cambodia Visa for Indians 2026: Fees, Process & Types

Cambodia issues several visa categories for foreign nationals. For Indian travelers, the three most relevant are the Tourist Visa (Type-T), Business Visa (Type-E), and Transit Visa (Type-D). The e-Visa and Visa on Arrival are available for Tourist and Business categories only — for other visa types, you must apply through the embassy.

Tourist Visa (Type-T)

The Tourist Visa is the most common option for Indian leisure travelers visiting Cambodia's temples, beaches, and cultural sites.

Business Visa (Type-E)

The Business Visa is for Indians traveling to Cambodia for professional purposes — meetings, conferences, trade activities, or employment.

Key details:

• Fee: USD 35 (approximately ₹2,900)
• Entry type: Single entry (1 and 3 month options) or multiple entry (6 and 12 month options)
• Stay: 30 days from date of entry (initial)
• Validity: 90 days from date of issue
• Extension: Multiple extensions possible — 1 month (USD 45–50), 3 months (USD 75–80), 6 months (USD 155–160), or 12 months (USD 285–290)
• Available as: e-Visa, Visa on Arrival, or Embassy Visa

Best for: Business professionals, entrepreneurs, conference attendees, corporate travelers, anyone with a Cambodian business invitation

Transit Visa (Type-D)

• Airside Transit (No Visa Needed): Indian citizens transiting through Phnom Penh (PNH) or Siem Reap (SAI) who remain in the international transit area and do not pass through immigration do not require a visa.
• Landside Layover / Terminal Change: If you need to clear immigration to collect bags, recheck for a self-transfer flight, or step out of the airport during a layover, you must hold a standard Tourist Visa (USD 30) obtained via e-Visa or Visa on Arrival.
• Type-D Transit Visa Note: While official embassy schedules list a Type-D transit visa (USD 15, valid for stays up to 72 hours), it is not available via the official e-Visa portal. It can only be issued directly by the embassy in special circumstances.

Fee reductions effective 1 January 2025: Cambodia reduced e-Visa fees from USD 36 to USD 30 (tourist) and from USD 42 to USD 35 (business). The Visa on Arrival and Embassy fees remain unchanged.

VFS / Service Charges

Cambodia does not use VFS Global for visa processing. Applications are processed through:

VOA-specific warning for Indian travelers: The Visa on Arrival counter at Cambodian airports only accepts USD cash — no Indian Rupees, no credit cards, no other currencies. If you arrive without USD cash, a "help desk" near the VOA counter may offer to help for USD 45–50 (the same visa plus an overpriced photo). Avoid this by carrying exact USD 30 in clean, undamaged bills before departure.

Indian Banking Nuances

• Sufficient funds: While there is no officially stated minimum balance requirement for Cambodia, immigration officers may ask for proof of sufficient funds. Carry a credit card and some cash (USD or INR). A bank statement showing the last 3 months is recommended but not always checked.
• Cards accepted: Visa and Mastercard are accepted at most hotels, restaurants, and shops in Phnom Penh, Siem Reap, and Sihanoukville. Smaller towns and markets are cash-only.
• Currency: The US Dollar is widely used alongside the Cambodian Riel (KHR). Most transactions in tourist areas are quoted in USD. Indian Rupees are not accepted or exchangeable in Cambodia — convert to USD before departure.

e-Visa Application (Recommended)

Step 1: Visit the Official Portal

Go to evisa.gov.kh — the only authorized Cambodian government portal. Many third-party websites charge inflated fees (USD 60–120) for the same application. The official fee is USD 30 for tourist visas and USD 35 for business visas.

Step 2: Complete the Application Form

Enter your personal details (full name as in passport, date of birth, nationality), passport details (number, issue/expiry dates), and travel information (arrival date, entry point, accommodation). Use the passport reader technology feature for faster, error-free data entry.

Step 3: Upload Documents

Upload a recent passport-size digital photograph (JPEG/PNG, white background, 4cm x 6cm) and a clear scan of your passport bio-page. Ensure no glare, shadows, or cropped edges.

Step 4: Review and Submit

Check every field carefully — misspelled names, wrong passport numbers, or incorrect dates can cause rejection. Once submitted, you cannot edit the application. If you make a mistake, you must submit a new application entirely.

Step 5: Make Payment

Pay using Visa, Mastercard, JCB, Diners Club, UnionPay, Alipay, or WeChat Pay. The fee is USD 30 for tourist visas and USD 35 for business visas.

Step 6: Receive Your e-Visa

You will receive a confirmation email immediately, and the approved e-Visa as a PDF within 3 business days. In practice, many applications are approved within 24–48 hours, but some can take up to 2 weeks during peak season. Download and print at least 2 copies. Check your spam folder if you do not receive the email within 3 days.

Step 7: Complete the e-Arrival Card

After receiving your e-Visa, complete the free Cambodia e-Arrival Card at arrival.gov.kh within 7 days before your flight. This is separate from the visa and mandatory for all air arrivals.

Visa on Arrival Process

Step 1: Prepare Before Departure

Gather your documents: passport (6+ months validity), 1–2 photos (4cm x 6cm, as a precaution for land crossings), USD 30 cash, and your completed arrival card (available on the flight).

Step 2: Arrive at Entry Point

Proceed to the Visa on Arrival counter at the airport (located just before the immigration area). Available at Phnom Penh, Siem Reap, and Sihanoukville airports.

Step 3: Submit Documents and Pay

Hand over your passport, photos, completed form, and USD 30 cash. The process typically takes 15–30 minutes. During peak tourist season (November–March), queues can be longer — budget 30–45 minutes.

Step 4: Receive Your Visa

The immigration officer will stamp your visa in your passport. Keep the departure stub safe — you will need it when leaving Cambodia.

Warning: The VOA counter only accepts USD cash — no Indian Rupees, no credit cards, no other currencies. If you arrive without USD cash, a "help desk" near the VOA counter may offer to help for USD 45–50 (the same visa plus an overpriced photo). Avoid this by carrying exact USD 30 in clean bills.

Peak Season Warning: During peak tourist season (November–March), e-Visa processing may take longer than 3 business days. Airport VOA queues are significantly longer during this period. Apply for e-Visa at least 1–2 weeks before travel during peak season.

No Direct Flights: There are no direct flights from India to Cambodia as of 2026. Most connections route through Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur, or Singapore. Airlines include Thai Airways, Singapore Airlines, IndiGo (connecting), and AirAsia.

• Some Cambodia-Thailand land crossings have faced closures: Confirm the crossing is operational before planning overland travel.

Frequently Missing Documents:

• Physical passport photos for VOA at land crossings (airports no longer require them, but land crossings may charge USD 2–3 if you don't have one)

e-Arrival Card Submission

If arriving by air, you must have already completed the e-Arrival Card online (arrival.gov.kh) and have your QR code ready. Screenshot the QR code immediately after submission — airport WiFi at Cambodian airports can be unreliable, and having to load the QR code from a slow connection in a moving immigration queue is avoidable stress. A printed backup is worth the two minutes.
